School Based Program

Fightback’s school-based programs are designed to create safer, more inclusive learning environments where students can build confidence, develop practical safety skills, and strengthen their ability to navigate everyday risks. We work with adolescent girls and boys, educators, and parents to create a school culture rooted in safety, dignity, and prevention. Contact Us

Why this matter?

In Nepal, 12% of children experience sexual violence in school, with 91.1% of cases involving a known perpetrator. In an environment where school-based violence often remains invisible, Fightback provides a proactive solution. We address the critical gap in traditional education by providing the practical agency students need to recognize danger and act decisively.

We cultivate a culture of Dignity and Prevention. Our curriculum goes beyond basic self-defense to include:

Situational Awareness

Students learn how to identify risks, recognize warning signs, and make informed decisions in everyday situations.

Boundary Setting & Verbal Assertiveness

Participants build confidence in communicating boundaries, responding to unsafe behavior, and seeking help when needed.

Practical Self-Protection Skills

Hands-on training teaches simple, adaptable techniques to improve personal safety and confidence.

Bystander Intervention

Students, including boys, learn how to safely intervene, support peers, and contribute to safer school environments.

Students Empowered

Proven results across both private and governmental schools.

1-3 Days

Optimized Delivery

Our 1-3 Days Intensive Program is designed to integrate seamlessly into school calendars, ensuring high-impact training without academic disruption.

Delivery Mode

En masse

Our En Masse model is built to reach large groups of students at once, with the capacity to train 200+ participants in a single session. Designed for schools and grade-wide delivery, this high-impact format introduces essential safety, self-protection, and awareness skills in an engaging and accessible way. By training students together, the program helps create a shared understanding of safety and encourages a stronger culture of confidence, responsibility, and peer support across the school community.

ASA program

The ASA model provides continuous skill reinforcement, helping adolescent girls and boys turn safety practices into long-term habits rather than relying on one-off workshops. The program builds practical self-protection, situational awareness, confidence, teamwork, leadership, and responsible risk response through regular practice and progressive learning. Using activity-based learning, role-play, physical drills, and scenario-based simulations, students develop mental, vocal, and physical safety skills that can be applied in real-life situations. Training is delivered through an 8-level, multi-year curriculum with structured progression, allowing participants to advance from foundational awareness to peer leadership and ambassador roles. Currently implemented in schools such as DAV and Lincoln School, the program creates year-round immersive safety environments and extends impact through student-led projects, campaigns, and community activities.

Voices from the Program

While I was walking in the road yesterday, boys teased me and tried to grab my hand and hair. Then, I tried the techniques taught by Fightback. I released the hand and said not to touch my hair.

KII GIRL 8 Endline

I feel safer after attending the Fightback training, because I feel more confident and fearless than before. I have not changed the way I behave or places I go, it’s still the same. But now I feel more confident. Also, while I travel, I am definitely more aware.

I remember talking about bullying and how to stand up against it in the Fightback training program. Also, it was important to learn about the weaker body parts of boys. The training made us kick the dummy and it gave us confidence that we can actually hit boys if needed.

When we hear the term sexual violence the first thing everyone thinks is about rape. I learned from Fightback training that only rape is not a sexual violence, any improper action that is done without other person’s consent such as double meaning words, making unwanted demands, etc. comes under sexual violence.

Had you asked about experiencing bad touch before Fightback training, we would have said we have never experienced it, since we did not know what constituted a bad touch. Now that we are aware, we were able to reflect on the times we actually experienced bad touch.
